He took another wee swig from his flask while he continued to descend, dangling and slowly rotating. Just as he was about to swallow the dear flavored sip, he perceived that, instead of what he had thought to be stars, the walls were starting to pulse with a warm, gem-like shimmer.

"Begorrah!" he muttered. "This surely isn't Kansas."

The glow was slowly increasing, and now was pulsing with a rhythm that seemed to keep time to the leprechaun's own heart. The sound of his breathing was echoing in the narrow shaft and seemed to amplify by the moment.

The walls on every side became slick with moisture, and added motion to their pulsing glow. A rushing whoosh from above was soon followed bath an aromatic bath of the finest single malt.

Louie, astonished, looked up, then down, then at his flask, then at the walls. He removed his hat, held it out, and took another sip. The hat became full. With a gleeful cackle, the leprechaun yanked on the rope with the signal for his friend to raise him.

As the rope cleared the top of the well, Louie the Leprechaun ran up and embraced his friend. "I tell ye, lad, I've truly found another pot of gold! It's unbelievable! Don't ye go anywhere-I'm a going for buckets and a coupla different kinds of whiskey, then ye'll lower me down again! I'll explain later!"

As he ran off into the morning fog, his friend burst out laughing. Another friend came out from behind a rock with an empty bottle, a microphone and megaphone, and a paintbrush full of glow-in-the-gloom paint.
