But freedom can be a two-edged sword. While the person did get on with its life, the discovery of the truth about wishes was only a single step toward true freedom.

The person had learned that wishes are like hopes. In fact they are one and the same.

Wishes, like hopes, are the innermost desires of one's being. Without them, one cannot pursue that which will deliver them to ultimate happiness. For without the goal of seeing the wish come true, there can be no drive to push the person onward to achieve the end result of the wish-causing them to spiral downwards into the abyss of their own despair.

The person was now left pondering how he had let himself waste such a precious wish on a truth that was in front of him all along. "'The truth will set you free.' Heh, then why do I feel even more trapped than before?"
