No vertigo at all for over a week now, so I’m not really concerned about the lack of a definitive diagnosis. If it were anything more than simple inner ear inflammation, I think it would still be bothering me.

We got four or five inches of snow last night, but it looks like more than half of it melted today.

I’m going out in DC tomor—er, tonight with some friends from work. That should be good for me. I spend too much time at home in the winter. Not to mention at work. I’ve been working a lot this week, wrestling with an overly complicated pile of JavaScript, which refuses to bend to my will. I’m probably chasing a wild goose, I just wish I could tell it was a wild goose from farther away.

Stop the grocery store, I want off.

Saturday morning I started feeling light-headed, but thought little of it until I started feeling woozy and nauseous at the grocery store. By Sunday night, I couldn’t stand up without getting motion sick.

There seems to be something wrong with my inner ear; it keeps insisting that I’m constantly turning to the right. It’s difficult to focus on things because my eyes try to follow them by reflex, in spite of the fact that they’re not really moving. I can’t read, or use the computer for more than a couple of minutes without lying down. Driving is out of the question.

So I’ve been sleeping a lot, and lying down even when I’m awake. The ceiling sometimes contorts before my eyes, as my brain tries to rationalize the conflicting signals it’s getting. Television has been a decent distraction. Thankfully I can see it well enough.

Warning: Vogon activity in this sector.

So I submitted my divorce paperwork in November, right? A clerk in the matrimonial office looked over all of it, and approved it, and I paid the court fees. But now I find out that the papers are “defective” and I have to go back up and correct them. Incompetent pencil-pushing pigeon-licker. God knows what he was actually thinking about when he flipped through the papers; maybe he was contemplating the gurgling sound of my time and money being flushed down his toilet.

The icing on the cake is that the office won’t even tell me what needs fixing over the phone. So I have no idea how long it’ll take to correct until I get up there, which of course is perfect for scheduling the time off from work to travel.

If they miss anything this time around, I swear I’ll find some way to waste a month of their time.

Merry Christmas!

I hope today finds you happy and healthy. :)

I’m having a pretty good Christmas with my family in Missouri. My nephew Alex is really amazing. He’s so tiny, I can’t imagine how much he’ll change before I get to see him again. Fortunately, my sister and brother-in-law, his parents, are staying at my mom’s all this week while I’m there.

Gotta keep this short, as I still have wrapping to do. Bah.
